WEEK 91: Another waterfall (bonus: Goatseph)

This smorning we took a hike out to Ezakheni falls, but the real one this time. Only minor injuries were sustained. We also brought Goatseph with us. He was hopelessly lost.

This week's fast and testimony meeting was pretty great. We had two declarations of a desire to be baptized over the pulpit. It was also great to hear the testimony of our recent convert Sibonelo and see him pass sacrament for the first time.

This week our most progressing investigator Vuyiswa's mother passed away a bit unexpectantly. I was a bit concerned about how she would take it. When we were at the funeral, she talked to us about some of the tender mercies straight from the Lord that were strengthening her in these times. She also spoke of her upcoming baptism when speaking about her mother at the funeral. Apparently her mother had been a huge support to her in deciding to be baptized. The Lord has chosen and preserved Vuyiswa for her baptism. It has also been great to hear how Vuyiswa is being strengthened by the members- especially Owen, the recent convert from Ezakheni 2 branch. They have gone through many of the same struggles. We will be taking Owen with us to visit her this week.

Another great thing that happened this week was during my exchange with Ladysmith. Elder Youngman and I "ran into" someone in Steadville that was almost baptized when Elder Miller was there over a year and a half ago. The area book did not have a current address or phone number, so it was really a small miracle. From what I've heard she also came to church and is on baptism date again. Exchanges are great times for the Lord to orchestrate these kinds of things.
