WEEK 8: Zone Conference, Chinese Food, and Teaching Chastity

Hello everyone it's me again.
So this week was interviews with mission President Thompson while he was here in Lesotho for zone conference, which was awesome. Zone conference is where all the Lesotho elders meet together to receive instruction and to give some talks and things. We also had District conference this week which is where all the members from the area gather together kinda like a normal Sunday, but the chapel is packed and there are good speakers including President Thompson and his wife and an Area quorum of the 70 Daniel P. Hall.
Zone conference was cool because we received a lot of good lessons about the Holy Spirit and its role in helping us teach. It's awesome to think that when we teach truths, we are teaching them with the Holy Spirit helping us teach too. We talked about Christlike attributes too and many other things. The Dransfields also got chinese food for us for lunch and I ate too much.

We took some zone pictures and stuff too but Sister Thompson took them so they will be on the mission blog. http://ldssouthafricadurban.blogspot.com/  I attached pictures of me and the 3 elders from the MTC that came with me to Lesotho and the "royal family" which include Dos Santos (who trained Bodnar) and LaHue and I'm the grandson because LaHue trained me. The top picture is from when me and Elder LaHue worked a media stand with our investigator Monyane.

At District conference we got to go and talk to Daniel Hall and he said his daughter taught at the Johannesburg MTC, which she was actually my teacher, so we talked real briefly about that but what I didn't tell him was that his daughter I think really disliked me so I left that part out. But he had a really good talk in church about faith and some other topics that the people here in Lesotho probably need because things are growing here FAST. And we are right in the middle of it. It's inspiring.

So the media stand was a funny story. We set up a table with some pamphlets in a busy (and sketchy) area called Lakecorp. One of our investigators Monyane walked up and wanted to help us. He stayed with us for two hours and introduced us to all his friends in the area which was awesome. One friend, Monyane really wanted to teach chastity. So we just finished teaching him that and we helped him teach it to his friend who was surprisingly receptive.

That's the main things that happened this week though. We're out here setting goals and working hard getting people to come to Christ. As one lady said at District Conference, "I have never seen anyone who has come unto Christ and regretted it." So that's my challenge for everyone this week. Take a step back and look at how you could be more christlike, whether its in the way you think of the way you act. And get better! It will bring blessings and make you more happy, this I promise you. I hope everyone is safe and happy. Talk to ya next week.
