So work here is going good. We have gotten some new really good investigators this last week. Ran into them tracting and they really have good questions and a desire to learn more about Jesus Christ. One of our investigators, Florence is going to be baptized on the 8th so she is being taught some of the last lessons but she is also struggling a lot and doesn't have a job and can't get her and her son to chruch because of money. She is one of our farthest away investigators. She is also losing it a bit because she's seen like 2 dead people on the street in like a week. Like I said, people die here a LOT. We are concerned for her and we are fasting with her today so we had breakfast and started our fast with her a few hours ago. 24 hours without food or water but she will reap the blessings I'm sure and this is her first time fasting too. But funny story, last time we were at her house she was very generous so she made us a dessert before we left. It was marshmallows, peaches, and some of the most expired cake I've eaten in my life. See picture. Gourmet.
The Dransfields are the older missionary couple in our area and they are super nice and awesome and they had us over for dinner. They make sure we are safe and taken care of and stuff.
There's also this crazy neighbor we have that's driving me nuts. He always smacks the dog thats right across from our boarding and so the dog barks like crazy any time he gets near. He doesn't speak any english just sesotho so we can't ask him to stop. But he walks around at night and triggers the dog which wakes me up. Currently thinking of a solution.
I have been telling cheesy shark jokes on occasion but the elders don't really get them. I took a cool picture of the sunset but the camera doesn't do it much justice. It's beautiful here though and its warming up too. I'm still asked if I'm cold all the time because the people here aren't as used to the cold and they are all bundled up still.
I hope everyone is doing good, and I hope everyone can take a second to appreciate just how much God has blessed you with. We often overlook how blessed we are to have things like indoor plumbing and enough to eat. And of course pray and thank Him of those things. Until next week, take care.
